| Okay, so the loud ppl left and i did get some work done. Now the reality of all of this is, I never get anything written properly first time anyway. So I was never actually going to finish it today before the North Option get together. However, I now have a skeleton of what i will write about in the reflection which is super cool! Anyway, it's going to be a long night, and if not that, it is going to be a long morning. hee hee hee okay i'm out. later!! joce | | |
| So here we are... sitting in OISE computer lab trying to write my reflection for my second to last assignment. Well, you know what... PEOPLE ARE BEING LOUD and i can't work while ppl are talking if they are the ONLY ONES talking... sigh... i really want to get this done becuase I don't want to take it home with me and i have like an hour to kill before i have to go and meet with my North Option buddies... GACK!! what am I going to do??? I guess i'm going to have to go home and finish it tonight after meeting with the ppl, which means i can't stay out late, which means i will be up late, which means, I AM SCREWED! oh wait, that is where we started!! this is horrible... i just felt like complaining... boo.... joce | | |
| Hello hello hello! So i'm just taking a break from my assignments which are due this week and next. Luckily one has been pushed to the 8th of January but i think i'll get it in before the 13th of Dec (which is only 2 weeks away!! yikes!!). Anyway, my mom moves this weekend and i just realized that i had registred for a conference on that day, not soo cool, now i'll have to cancel and i really wanted to go to the conference. The conference is on teacher activism and teaching social justice in classrooms, schools and communities. wait i need to restart, i'll be right back. | | |
| Hello my people!! I'm super sorry that I'm the world's WORST blogger, but what can you do? There is a lot for me to cover, so i'll get right to the point. First, things first, I love teaching! There i've said it, i can't take it back!! hee hee hee, yes, yes, I do love teaching! I don't love having to plan everyday like a mad fool, and I hate having laryngitis (oh wait, i can't spell) while teaching (yep that happened for a week!!!), and I don't like making my lunch everyday (okay I made that one up, i like taking a lunch to school, but i have a thing about threes...). But I doo love the children; seeing them have thier own ah-ha! moments, helping them feel successful, and watching them do something I had not even expected! Needless to say, i miss my children. For the past month (well actually from a week ago last friday) I was in the classroom watching the little children learn (with my help of course). It was one of the greatest experiences of my life. Granted it was not perfect but I learned a lot and that is all that I can ask for. I will try to post pics of thier lovely work as soon as possible. Of course there are no names attached b/c of confidentiality, but we'll refer to the school as Wonderful P.S. And the children as the brillant students of Grade Lovely. hee hee hee. Being the student again was a pic of a shock (yes, I said it! I was shocked at being a student again!!!) but a good one, expect for the sitting down for hours on end!!! I have assignments coming out the wazoo and on top of that my granddaddy was placed back in coranary care earlier this week. I was hoping to go along with business as usual but you know, it's not working. I was talking to a colleague of mine late last week about this and she advised that I get an extension on my assignments. Well, i really don't like to do that unless it's a super emergency. And since I'm assuming i have all this time to complete my work, there shouldn't be any reason for me to have the extension. Word to the wise, it's okay to have the extra time. I'm doing my best to get all my work done (and knowing me I'll probably get everything done on time) but i did email my instructors and they were all very supportive. You don't know how much that means to me. Anyway, i'm having an okay time, spending too much time trying to be super happy. I miss Sharlah (which is super bad since i've been in waterloo for the past two weekends and have NOT had the chance to even call you!!! makes me sad and angry!) and having real friends here in T.O. I know, we'll just have to invent a teleporter or have Sharlah and Nathan move to T.O.!! hee hee hee. oh dear... Anyway, i'm going to go now and do more work on my assignments. Talk to you all later. joce. ps. do you think it is rude not to believe something someone said? Although in my defense I did not say I didn't say that this person couldn't believe it. And besides it was about a dream... ah well. | | |
| Hello my lovlies, So today was a super awesome day!! I didn't get to go to church so I did a little devo of my own early this morning, which was nice, i'm just about to do another one again (yes at 1:30 AM) b/c it's been such a lovely day. First, i woke up around 6 (which was really 5 b/c i forgot to change my clock but i didn't know so i really thought it was 6) and was quite awake, and since the radio was playing 'Move Along' I just took it as a sign to get up and get going. So as I said i did a llittle devo, then i looked out the window, which was quite bright, which was strange b/c they said it would rain and storm all weekend... i'm still waiting for that btw. After window gazing and contemplating, i did some work on my lessons for this week (which are all done up until Thursday i think... ) and then ate oatmeal, with brown sugar and a teaspoon of peanut butter. Trust me it's lovely!! I then read a little bit of my bookie (Something Rotten, the third book in the Thrusday Next trilogy) which is super fun b/c it is filled with literary in-jokes which i find funny. There is also some sillyness in it, but it (being the narrative) is v. aware of how silly it is being that i just have to continue reading and laughing! hee hee hee. Really, it's super. I then got ready to go outside and finish some running around i had to do for school and the like. I was going to the mall to get some school supplies as well as the Value Village to get some crazy clothes for our 'Harvest Festival' celebration at school this week. One thing i find funny is that they change the name but it is really just a Halloween party all afternoon long. Anyway, back to the outside trip. Remember how i said it was lovely outside? Well it really was! And it was super windy! I was so happy!!! I swear I was walking with this silly grin on my face for at least 20 mins! I just love the wind b/c I feel God in the wind. Powerful, Uplifting, and Everywhere. I had the best time just exploring in the wind, talking to people about the wind and watching the clouds skuttle (sp?) by. After that, i came home and finished my book (it really was that good), did some more work on my lessons until 7, when i was going to watch Smallville but Supernatural (ick!!) was on instead! I was kinda put out about that, but i took the time to eat (Aly made the greatest meal today! i'm still not sure how she does it but it's great!!) and help Aly with her sewing. After that, i worked again on my lessons (which btw, i've been working on since yesterday. that is all i do these days, lesson this, lesson that...) and then sorta watched DH, really only the part with Linette, since she is my fav. character b/c she is strong and not always overly stupid. And then i worked on my lessons again until just now, well really about a half hour ago b/c i'm writting this. Anyway, that has been my lovely windy day. Hope the day is well with you as well. Keep me in your prayers, tomorrow i teach my first math lesson!! eeeee!! hee hee hee lots of love, joce | | |
